| Arrive by Aeroplane |
Grandtaxi from the Fes Saiss Airport If you give me your flight arrival details, I will arrange for you to be met at the airport by one of our Drivers. He will be holding a placard with your name on it, or "Dar El Hana" and will drive you to Ain Azleten Car Park where you will be met and escorted to Dar El Hana. If some other guests are arriving on the same flight, I may arrange a larger vehicle, but you will be included in the decision to do this The charge for this journey will be 120 - 150 DH; or more if larger vehicle is shared.

| Bus - From La Villa Nouvelle (CTM bus station) or from Fes Train Station |
Petit Taxi's from CTM bus station or Fes Train Stationn Petit taxis in Fes are RED, and easy to find, just be sure that the metre is running as you leave. The Petit taxi is licenced to carry up to three passengers only. Expect 10 - 15DH for the journey…surcharge after 9pm. Ask taxidriver to take you to AIN AZLETEN car park in the Old Medina (Ancien Medina). Having passed through The New Town (Ville Nouvelle) where the CTM Bus and Train stations are, there is a ring road around the ancient walls of the Medina. There are several car access points off this ring road. Ain Azleten is the one closest to Dar El Hana. Having entered the medina through one of these access points, gates or BABs, travelling is on foot, carriage of goods, by donkey or mule. Enjoy the ancient walls as you drive by. For heavy or awkward luggage, a carroser man can carry your luggage in his cart to the door for 15-20DH. If you have rung me as I will suggest, I will arrange for a staff member to be there to meet you at the steps to the main street Talaa K'Bira, to escort you the 5 mins to Dar El Hana.
If you are a party of 5 or 6, you may prefer to travel in a grandtaxi (white Mercedes) and the charge needs to be agreed before you board the car...usually 30 DH.
First class tickets on the train ensure you a seat and air-conditioning |
| Bus - From Bab Boujlord (local Bus station) |
Bus from the local Bab Boujlord This very modern building is very close to Ain Azleten and could be walked if luggage was not a problem...and good walking shoes available. Walking out to the road and staying on the left hand pavement, turn left to go down the road until you see the turn off the ring road to the right, as described in "arriving by car"; cross the road, and proceed up the steep road (to the right) to the car park, and arrange to be met, or follow the carpark road to the end and take the steps to Talaa K'Bira and the above map to Dar El Hana. |

If you are driving into Fes medina, have a good map available. Coming from Meknes direction, through Ville Nouvelle, take the Ring Road which goes through Bab Sagma and the Bab Sagma cemetery on your left, through the hexagonal towers opposite Bab Makina on your right. On your right, you will pass two or three large Gates(Babs) with lots of people and you may see into the Baghdadi Square on your right, and shortly be aware of the large modern Bus Station (with pyramid skylights)on the left, opposite "Kasbah Nouar" (housing within ancient walls) which will be marked on your map...Inshallah! By now you will be seeing the wonderful ancient walls of the city on your right, and will see high up on the hill to the left, the North Fortress (Borj Nord), and Merinides Tombs. The turnoff to the right is not signposted, but you should be in line with Borj Nord, when the road has a turn off to the right. Right again up the steep hill to the car park, where an attendant will help you park, and ask for a fee which will be 15-20DH per day/night to ensure safety of your car. Pay upfront for at least one day, or the payment will be sought when you are driving away. Take a carroser if you need, as described above and ring before arrival to arrange a rendevous.....or follow the map above.
